Holiday Wars g/c – lg

2005-11-23

It started off as a normal lunch conversation. "Who do you think would win in a fight, Santa or the Easter Bunny?" A few good points were brough up for each, but Santa eventually won out. He commands such respect from a lot of followers, there has to be more to him that meets the eye (or tale for that matter).

It then evolved into a conversation about who would win in an epic battle... Santa and his minions or The Easter Bunny and the rest of the commercial holiday icons.

It is still a raging battle of logic, hooves, brooms, four leaf clovers, candy canes, and military strategy, but here is some of it thus far:

Xmas Horde
Battle Cry: "For the North!", "Winter is coming!"
Battle Song: "Here come Santa Clause"
Home Fortress: The frozen North
General: St. Nick aka Santa, The Pimp of the North, Mighty Clause, The Big Guy, Big Papa Noel, Kriss kringle

- Elves: The most versatile of Santa's forces. Both builders and soldiers, these guys are intimately familiar with all weapons of mass destruction. Siege tower construction and long range combat are their specialty (read: elves + bow and arrow = killer elves .. see LOTR). Weaknesses include mortality, and close combat.

- Reindeer: Brought to us by Aerospace NP, these sky dancing marvels are a vicious breed of vertical terror. Can be used for mounted attacks, or alone. Watch out for close combat abilities of both hooves and antler. Weaknesses include lack of weaponry, and tendency to overheat in warmer climates.

- Snowmen: Peircers of hearts, extinguishers of flame, and just cold hearted bastards. Long range and short range are both effective. Very good tactical units. Effectively Immortal in colder climates. Weaknesses include heat, flame, etc.

- Ghosts of xmas past/present/future: Excellent recon abilities.

The Holiday Revolutionaries
Battle Song: "The Monster Mash"
Battle Cry: "For the Profit Shares!"
Home Fortress: Dracula's Mansion
General: Easter Bunny aka The Basket Bearer

- Dracula: Airborne close combat unit. Excellent speed, and close range. Regenerative abilities. Great in night time combat scenarios. Weaknesses include stake/arrow/snowman arm through the heart, sunlight, garlic xmas dinner.

- Cupid: Airborne Long range unit. Although the arrows do not kill, they can serve to confuse the enemy long enough for Dracula to attack. Weaknesses include lack of proper attire therefore attacks and climate are limiting.

- Leprechaun: Quick and nimble close range unit. Can induce luck and good fortune on armies. Also a good source of income to purchase supplies. Weaknesses include combat in general.

- Ghosts: Much like the ghosts under Santa's rule, these guys are perfect for recon, if nothing else.

Like I said however, the battle still rages on. I'd like YOU to participate too. Add to the list for either team, and send me an email, and I'll link to your added Military Units.

Prepare for Battle.
